Guitars and Snow

I took a short involuntary break because I had a lack of inspiration. To try to mend that I’ve been spending time taking an old and broken guitar apart and trying to make it look somewhat better. There are multiple issues with this new little hobby of mine. I can’t play guitar and I have never done any proper work on one other than doing basic setups on my bass. I’ll have to learn everything and will probably mess up a bunch in the process, but so far it’s been mostly a fun experience.

Here’s a picture of what the body looked like after I took the neck off it, not exactly pretty. I scraped a whole bunch of stickers off it as well, it has not been treated all that nicely. I actually found it on the floor in our rehearsal room after the previous owner had just left it there because he didn’t want it.

My goal is to make it playable but if it’s too much of a mess hopefully it will at least look good on the wall. I have no idea what the wood beneath the lacquer looks like or what it’s made of, I’ll post some updates later down the line if I even manage to get some kind of result! 🙂

In other news, I just finished a new tune! I decided to call it The Journey Home after walking home from the guitar destruction session in the freezing weather. It’s beautiful outside this time of year and I really should get out more, maybe I should take some pictures of that as well, not just crusty old guitars!

I really want to thank all of you for sticking with me the last couple of years, it’s been fantastic and I think that 2016 will be a great year for the channel thanks to all of you!

Have a great day!
